Does it not fascinate the mind how we, as grown and learned adults, return to our infancy and obsess over the minutiae? Over what might have been?

We remember only a sliver of the past, honed sharply by the rigors and travails of mortal existence. And thus we linger in a place that may never have existed at all, a twisted reverie that will never be the truth. A facsimile, an approximation, but not the whole of it.

A person can only be a child once, then never again. Such is the cruelness of time.
